Let’s face it: we all like essential oils. They smell good and they are good for us. Is it really any wonder then that we’re constantly sniffing and diffusing them?

But, surely, there are even more ways to incorporate essential oils into our daily lives? Well, if you’ve been wondering about that, you have struck gold!

Below, we’ll share some of the most useful and delightful essential hacks that you might not know about because they go way beyond the obvious ones.

1.  Make Bedtime a Breeze

If your little one is having trouble sleeping, we have just the thing! Mix a drop or two of lavender essential oil with two to three drops of coconut oil. Warm up the blend slightly and then massage it onto the bottoms of their feet right before bedtime. This will help to promote restful sleep.

And, if you’re wondering, yes, this hack works on adults, too!

2.  Soothe Painful and Sore Earlobes

If you have piercings, you’re likely already familiar with the pain. Sometimes, your earlobes become inflamed or seriously sore. This is especially after you have worn cheap or very heavy earrings.

For some quick relief, warm up a drop of tea tree essential oil between your fingers and rub it over your lobes.

3.  DIY Cuticle Oil

Pandemic and lockdowns might mean fewer trips to the manicurist. But, have no fear, this DIY cuticle oil will take care of any dry or cracked cuticles.

Simply mix the below together in a small glass bottle:

If you want a simpler blend, you can also try adding 10 drops of frankincense essential oil to a small bottle and fill the rest with olive oil. Apply the mixture to your cuticles and massage it in.

4.  Eliminate Grease Stains

Grease stains on your favourite blouse? Lemon essential oil to the rescue! Sprinkle some baking soda on the stain and add two to three drops of lemon essential oil. Let it sit for a bit and then wash as you’d normally. The only caveat here is that you have to work quickly before the stain sets in.

5.  Clean Your Microwave

Want a sparkling clean microwave? Here’s how you do it. Fill a bowl with water and four to five drops of lemon essential oil. Set the microwave on high for three to five minutes. Then, wipe down with a damp cloth.

6.  Alternative Fabric Softener

If you’re looking to cut down chemicals and budget, there’s an easy solution to replace your store-bought fabric softener.

Simply add a drop of tea tree essential oil to a cup of white vinegar. And, now, you have an all-natural fabric softener. Yes, it’s that simple!

7.  Help With Fever

If you’re running a temperature and are waiting for the meds to kick in, give this a try. Just add equal parts of frankincense and eucalyptus oils diluted in milk to lukewarm bathwater.

Now, these hacks not only help to incorporate even more essential oils into your daily life but are also extremely handy. Which one will you try out first?
