Meta: When empowering and supporting local women, you are encouraging change and developing a more accepting and economically driven society.

Statistics show that if you empower and support women, they will then in turn support others around them. For example, you will often find that these women take better care of their families and children. You will also find a reduced amount of violence in the home.

You will see a shift in the mentality of the Balinese which is remarkable because this is considered a very much male-dominated society. The women in this society are often forced to live with their husband’s family, rather than their own.

However, when we empower and support these local women, we are finding that in many cases, the husband is willing to move with their wife and in some cases, we find that the husband is actually the one that stays and takes care of the children. This is a significant and powerful change in our society that we are embracing.

Why is Women Empowerment Important?

For a woman to be successful, they should have a clear idea of their own self-worth, and they should have the confidence and the freedom to make their own choices.

Empowered women are continually striving and working toward achieving their best and to do this; they require support. We have also found that empowered women work better together as a group rather than men. When we empower women, we are essentially stimulating the confidence they already have within themselves, and we are unearthing their creativity and intelligence.

Statistics show that when women are given micro-loans that they are able to lift up their families and community to reduce poverty.

Further Develop Society

Further, when we empower and support local women, we are ultimately proving how advantageous and beneficial women are for our communities. In societies typically dominated by men, strong and independent women are stepping up and taking over in areas that were once reserved for their male counterparts.

While they strive to maintain peace and harmony within their homes, they are also given the support of their family and community, and in doing so, we are disassembling traditional gender stereotypes and are now viewing women and their accomplishments in a much more positive light.

Facilitate Development

Finally, we are choosing to facilitate development. When one woman stands up and shows how confident she is, other women will become empowered to do the same and destroy discrimination in the process.

Ultimately, women empowerment and unconditional support can break stereotypes and bring about some much-needed change to our society as a whole and that is why we choose to support and empower local women.
