When Should You Shop for Aromatherapy Products Online?
There are many different considerations to make when deciding whether or not to shop for aromatherapy products online.
Which company should you purchase from?
What product should you buy?
Who should you ask questions or seek advice from?
These are just a few of the questions you may have. But let’s start with the most important factor when making this decision and then go from there:
1. Experience with Aromatherapy & Essential Oils
Experience is easily one of the most important factors when deciding whether or not to shop for essential oils or aromatherapy products online. Would this be your first time shopping for aromatherapy products? How familiar are you with essential oils, diffusers, and aromatherapy? Do you already know what you’re looking for? How much assistance do you need?
Would this be your first time shopping for aromatherapy products?
If this is your first time shopping for essential oils or aromatherapy diffusers, it may be best to go to your local store and ask some questions. A manager might be able to narrow down which essential oils might help you with what you’re looking for in a quick and helpful way.
However, if you don’t mind doing your own research, a lot of the information about aromatherapy, diffusers and essential oil accessories are readily available online, just you have to know where to look and be willing to do a little digging!
How familiar are you with essential oils, diffusers, and aromatherapy?
Even if you are brand new to essential oils, diffusers, and aromatherapy, doing some research to start out might help you discover what exactly you’d like to use a diffuser for, or which essential oil might be most helpful for your situation. If you’re unsure of where to start, we have a few blog posts that might be a great introduction to aromatherapy, diffusers and essential oil benefits.
We have Your Complete Guide to Essential Oil Diffusers for those looking for more information on the different kinds of aromatherapy diffusers and the general benefits you can expect from diffusing essential oils.
Do you already know what you’re looking for?
We recently wrote posts about Lavender Essential Oil Benefits and Rosemary Essential Oil Diffuser Benefits. In our article about Lavender Essential Oil, we discuss the many benefits you can gain from using lavender essential oil and the different ways you can use it, including topically, diffusing, in a bath and more!

How much assistance do you need?
It’s natural to have a lot of questions when you’re preparing to make your first aromatherapy purchase. If you like reading and doing research on your own, you won’t have a problem! There’s plenty of information out there to satisfy all of your questions. If you’re looking for a place to begin, some of our favorite sources are Healthline and Dr. Axe.
If you prefer to ask for advice or bounce ideas off of a professional while shopping, then an in-person visit to your local aromatherapy shop might be better for you. At the store, you can ask for essential oil recommendations and tips tailored more specifically to your needs.
When making your decision to shop online for aromatherapy products, another important consideration is convenience. If you have a local aromatherapy shop around the corner, it may be unreasonable to wait several days to receive your essential oils via the mail. But for the rest of us, shopping online for aromatherapy products can be quite convenient.
Once you’ve done your research and you know which diffusers, essential oils or aromatherapy accessories you’re looking for, the entire internet is your playground.
When looking for the right online aromatherapy shop, we recommend always doing a little extra research. Check the product reviews and make sure people haven’t had any issues with customer service!
3. Selection & Price
While browsing at the local aromatherapy shop, selection and price might be two concerns that come to mind. As we mention in Your Complete Guide to Essential Oil Diffusers, there are four main types of aromatherapy diffusers: the heat diffusers, evaporative diffusers, ultrasonic diffusers, and nebulizing diffusers. A visit to a nearby shop might not have the type of diffuser that might be best for your needs, or they might have prices ranges that seem unaffordable.
The same might be true with essential oils. While there’s definitely some crossover between different essential oils and their benefits, it’s also important that you pick aromas that you enjoy! If your room or home will be carrying a certain aroma or blend of aromas, that’s probably not something you want to compromise on.
That’s why it can be very helpful to at least do a search at an online aromatherapy shop before you make your trip into town. Knowing what you’re looking for and around what prices to expect can alleviate a lot of the worries and doubts that can sometimes accompany making a purchase.
4. Quality of Diffusers & Essential Oils
Another important factor when making your aromatherapy accessories purchases is the quality of the product. When you purchase an aromatherapy diffuser, if you make the right choice, it can work for years, possibly a lifetime. That’s why it never hurts to make sure that you’re investing in a great product. It may be difficult to make this distinction in-person unless you trust the salesperson you’re working with so we like to recommend checking online reviews of products to see what went wrong in the low-rated reviews. This gives you an opportunity to browse products without feeling like a particular one is being pushed on you.
Quality is also extremely important when it comes to choosing your essential oils. Since a bottle can last a few months, we always recommend choosing something made with 100% natural ingredients like the selection we carry here at Utama Spice Bali. The quality of the ingredients of the essential oils can have a huge effect on the quality of the benefits received.
