Lip balm is one of those things many of us have in our bag, ready to use on a daily basis. It is something we find ourselves reaching for several times during the day in the case of dry, chapped lips.

However, did you know that there are other ways you can use a lip balm that you probably didn’t know about?

Prevent Blisters

It can be used to prevent blisters when you wear that new pair of shoes you just purchased. All you have to do is apply some of your lip balms to the spot on your ankle that gets the most irritated by your footwear.

Tame Flyaways

If you are out and find yourself fighting against flyaways, you can use lip balm to keep your hair straight and smooth. All you have to do is apply a small amount of lip balm to your hairbrush and then brush it through your hair, taking special care to avoid the roots. Lip balms are typically wax-based and can help your hair and even eyebrows look neat.

Help Dry and Split Ends

If your hair is dry, it can quickly lead to split ends, so you will want to act fast to avoid this annoying problem. To help prevent dry and split ends, simply apply some lip balm to your palms and then massage it into the ends of your hair. Make sure not to use too much when doing this trick, though, or it could make your hair look stringy.

Unstick a Stuck Zipper

How many times have you found yourself struggling with a stuck zipper that won’t budge? Lip balm can help. Apply some lip balm onto the zipper’s teeth and then move the slider back and forth a few times to work in the wax from the lip balm. It acts as the perfect lubricant to get the zipper unstuck in no time.

Remove Eye Makeup

If you need to remove or clean up some smudged eye makeup, you can put some lip balm on a cotton swab and then use it as you would a makeup remover. The lip balm will even hydrate the area under your eyes and reduce the appearance of lines. Use a soft brush or cotton swab and avoid applying it to the skin directly from the tube or container, or you can irritate the skin.

For Dry Skin

You can also use your lip balm on dry skin areas you have, such as dry elbows, cuticles, and knuckles. It will make the skin less chapped and will hydrate and nourish it at the same time.

Running Out of Blush?

If you find yourself running low on blush and want to extend what little you have left or make it appear even brighter, you can use your lip balm in combination with blush for a beautiful and more natural-looking rosy cheek look.

Mix some lip balm with your blush and then apply it to your cheeks. Not only will it look better, but it will also last longer for a more luminous appearance. You can also apply the same trick when using your eyeshadow.
